Outstanding Turnout at HOA Meeting

The homeowner association (HOA) meeting held April 29, 2008 at the community pool produced an outstanding turnout by neighborhood residents. The primary purpose of the meeting was to elect new board members. Former HOA President TK Lewis lead the meeting, while representatives of Hara Management, the Country Crossing HOA managing body, processed and tallied votes.

Seven residents ran for board positions, including five residents who had previously announced their candidacy and two residents who were nominated as write-ins by other residents at the meeting. Candidates present at the meeting introduced themselves and made comments on pertinent neighborhood issues, then answered questions of residents in the audience. Major issues addressed during question and answer sessions included individual homeowner lawn/home maintenance, community communication, and promoting neighborhood unity.

The three residents with the highest number of votes were elected as HOA Directors. These residents are Mr. Art Johnson, Mrs. Laura Mikovsky, and Mrs. Pauline Ritthaler. In a meeting with Hara Management representatives immediately following the community meeting, the newly elected Directors nominated one another for Board positions. Mrs. Ritthaler was nominated as President, while Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Mikovsky were nominated as Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer, respectively.

Our new HOA Board members thank all who participated in the meeting and look forward to working with Country Crossing residents to improve our neighborhood.

Message from the President:

On behalf of the newly elected HOA Board, thanks to all who participated in our recent community meeting! We look forward to working with each of you as we strive to improve the communication, efficiency, cohesiveness, and aesthetic of our neighborhood.

-- Pauline Ritthaler, HOA President

Community Goals

Our new Board is excited about this opportunity to improve our community. As evident at the Community Meeting held April 29, 2008, the primary concerns of our residents are communication between residents, board members, and management company representatives; individual homeowner lawn/home maintenance, and unification of residents. With improved communication being a means of reaching all goals, the first action items of our Board are communication-focused. These action items include:

n       Publishing and distribution of a bi-monthly (every other month) newsletter

n       Re-establishment of our HOA website

n       Installation of a suggestion box at the front of the neighborhood

n       Weekly bulletin board updates

n       Holding two to four community meetings per year

To learn more about the goals of our new Board, please attend an upcoming Board meeting or contact a Board member. The next meeting, slated to be held by May 30, 2008, will be announced on the bulletin board at the front of the neighborhood as soon as a meeting venue and date are secured.
